Job summary

KU Hospital in Kansas is seeking a CT Technologist to produce high-quality cross-sectional images for diagnostic purposes across multiple locations. The role includes participating in ongoing training, coordinating examinations, and maintaining safety and efficiency in CT operations.

The ideal candidate will have ARRT CT certification and state licensure, with experience in CT procedures and a strong focus on patient care and education.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate Or GED.
• Certificate of Completion in Radiologic Technology - Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Experience performing basic CT procedures.
• 1 or more years of large facility experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a liaison for communication between other departments and assists when called upon for special projects that have been approved by the Radiology Department leadership team.
• Assists with developing continuing education strategies with the CT Department which will assist the long term enrichment of the staff.
• Participates in providing teaching and learning opportunities to fellow technologists and students.
• Ensuring that all staff are operating equipment optimally and safely by adhering to policies, procedures and protocols.
• Operates CT scanners and auxiliary devices, setting radiation dose for lowest acceptable image quality under radiologists' oversight.
• Maintains organized flow of patients, coordinates examinations efficiently to minimize hospital stay.
• Responds to contrast reactions and patient needs.
• Completes mandatory educational assignments provided by supervisor.
• Performs routine CT procedures at high standard and expands capability to specialty studies with experience.
• Sets equipment parameters, provides patient assessment and education, prepares patients and administers contrast safely.
• Supports the Mission and Vision of KU Hospital.
