Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a CT Technologist at Fairfield Hospital to provide diagnostic CT imaging and direct patient care with compassion and timeliness.

You will ensure image quality, assist radiologists, and manage contrast agents while maintaining safety and IT system proficiency in Radiant and PACS. On-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

  • 1 year CT or Rad Tech experience preferred.
  • ARRT certification in Diagnostic Radiology required or preferred.
  • CT modality registration preferred or obtainable within two years.

Responsibilities

  • Percet CT procedures and ensure image quality with correct data.
  • Position patients and immobilize as needed for accurate imaging.
  • Administer IV, oral, rectal contrast agents as required.
  • Assist radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures using sterile technique.
  • Operate CT IT systems including Radiant and PACS; participate in on-call rotation.

CT Technologist - Fairfield Hospital
Job Summary

The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. The CT Technologist assists in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.

Essential Functions
  • Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.
  • Performs computed tomography procedures.
  • Performs timeout as required per policy.
  • Properly positions patients on CT scanning cradles and properly immobilizes patients with appropriate devices to obtain desired position.
  • Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner per physician request and patient history.
  • Performs intravenous injections and demonstrates a knowledge of use and care of existing IVs, administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
  • Assists the radiologist with biopsies, drainage procedures, etc. utilizing sterile techniques, exhibiting safe and effective use of all contrast and radiation materials.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
  • Participates in on call rotation as required.

Education
  • Associate's from an ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) accredited institute (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications
  • BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association (required at hire for Roper St Francis Healthcare locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH)
  • Certification and Registration with ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) in Diagnostic Radiology (required)
  • Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within two years)
  • State Licensure (preferred, unless required by the state where the job is being performed)
Experience
