Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Shift: PRN, hours and shift will vary

Responsible for performing all CT procedures independently, utilizing proper positioning, radiation safety practices (ALARA), and equipment operation. Must understand protocols, work with patients, physicians, and team members, and provide age-appropriate care.

Essential Duties:
  1. Perform computed tomography procedures.
  2. Review clinical history, prepare patients, operate CT equipment, and select appropriate protocols.
  3. Position and immobilize patients, apply radiation protection principles, and assist during interventional procedures.
  4. Capable of performing venipuncture and administering contrast media as per policy.
  5. Evaluate image quality, maintain records, and ensure equipment and data management.
  6. Provide patient education, support, and maintain confidentiality.
  7. Manage inventory, perform equipment cleaning, and pursue ongoing education.
  8. Identify patients accurately, perform routine cleaning, and observe safety precautions.
  9. Perform other related duties within scope of practice.
Essential Functions:
  • Mobility, manual dexterity, and effective communication skills.
  • Assist with patient transfers and move radiological equipment.
  • Plan, follow directions, problem-solve, and instruct others.
  • Learn to operate PACS and Radiology Information System.
Working Conditions:

Work in a patient care environment with exposure to infectious diseases and ionizing radiation.

Orientation Requirements:
  • Complete Genesys new hire and department orientation.
Education/Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program with 4-6 weeks CT training.
  • 1+ year in general Radiology, including 6-12 months with CT scanners.
Certifications/Licenses:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA within 3 months of hire.
  • ARRT Radiologic Technologist with CT specialization within 18 months of hire, with onsite training and registry exam.
