Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, the CT Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. This position may also include performing general diagnostic radiology examinations and related duties as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform computerized tomographic (CT) imaging procedures on patients, including patient positioning, protocol selection, and image acquisition in accordance with established clinical standards
  • Prepare patients for CT examinations by explaining procedures, obtaining informed consent, and addressing patient concerns and questions
  • Operate CT equipment safely and effectively, adhering to all radiation safety protocols and dose optimization principles
  • Monitor patients during procedures for adverse reactions or complications and respond appropriately to patient needs
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records and imaging documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Perform quality assurance checks on imaging equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisory personnel
  • Communicate effectively with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare team members regarding patient status and imaging findings
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following infection control and safety protocols
  • Perform general diagnostic radiology examinations as assigned and directed by supervisory staff
  • Participate in continuing education and maintain current certifications and licensures as required
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required
  • Must maintain the required hours of continued education
  • Healthcare Provider certification required (BCLS)
  • BLS Provider obtained within one (1) month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
  • One or more of the following:
  • Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date
  • NMTCB CD Computed Tomography Specialty Certification or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Must be registered in Computer Tomography within 12 months of date of hire
  • Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted
