Responsibilities
- Perform complex CT procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.
- Evaluate radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic quality.
- Gather relevant information from medical records, proxies, and providers to prepare scanning protocols, ensuring patient safety.
- Prepare patients for procedures, including shielding and immobilization.
- Assist providers with CT-guided interventional procedures.
- Perform CT examinations, administer contrast, and follow departmental protocols.
- Explain procedures to patients clearly, addressing questions and concerns.
- Perform venipuncture, IV maintenance, and monitor patient condition during procedures.
- Review images for completeness and diagnostic value; perform retrospective reconstructions.
- Provide technical assistance and training to students, employees, and residents.
- Adhere to image safety principles, infection control, and sterile techniques.
- Adjust scanning parameters to optimize pathology visualization.
- Document and archive images and patient data accurately.
- Assess equipment performance and perform daily QA.
- Complete clerical duties using hospital systems like EPIC, PACS, etc.
- Greet patients following AIDET standards and provide emergency care if necessary.
- Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, with on-call as needed.
- Lift at least 25 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., and stand for 6 hours daily.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficient with computer systems, including Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
Licenses and Certifications
- ARRT (CT) certification within 9 months of hire.
- NJ state license for Diagnostic Radiology.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 60 days of hire.
