Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Computed Tomography Technician - Brooklyn.

In this role, the successful candidate will operate radiologic equipment to produce clinical diagnostic films as directed by physicians, perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established policies and procedures, and perform all types of CT exams efficiently and competently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take quality x-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered by the physician following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Inject Intravenous Contrast Media when part of an imaging study and supervised by a physician.
  • Properly plot axial, sagittal, and coronal images for the appropriate exam and select and adjust scanning protocols to meet patient needs and conditions.
  • Perform daily QA tests, warm-up procedures, and calibrations.
  • Take initiative and resolve issues encountered in the department.
  • Keep the CT Department neat, clean, and stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Complete all documentation duties as required.
  • Implement care knowledgeably, skillfully, consistently, and continuously, prioritizing patient welfare.
  • Perform CT procedures quickly and competently, select exams from the worklist, properly label, archive, and store exams.
  • Ensure patient comfort and dignity during procedures (e.g., use of pillows, sheets, blankets).
  • Ensure proper patient name and demographics on all images, use measurement functions, review layouts, and understand post-processing at image works and retro recon.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Accept direction from supervisors willingly.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by properly setting up the exam room.
  • Be aware of personal responsibility and accountability for professional practice.
  • Perform examinations in an organized, logical sequence, use correct side markers, and initial films.
  • Identify role to the patient, explain procedures, and answer questions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Competent in all basic radiological exams, willing to complete tasks on schedule.
  • New York State License.
  • ARRT certification in CT or eligibility to sit for the CT registry, with completion within 1 year of employment.
  • NYS License to Inject Intravenous Contrast Media within 6 months of employment.
  • CPR certification from The American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent.
  • Preferred 2-5 years of experience.
