Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center is seeking a CT Technologist for the Bastrop FSED to perform CT imaging per ARRT standards. You will optimize radiation use and ensure patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging. The role requires radiologic technology training and CT-specific coursework or CEUs.

The facility emphasizes compassionate patient care, adherence to ARRT ethics, and strong teamwork within the radiology department at a highly regarded HCA Healthcare system location.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• CT coursework or CEUs in sectional anatomy within required hours.
• State licensure/certification as Medical Radiologic Technologist; ARRT certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures in accordance with ARRT standards and hospital policies.
• Utilize Image Gently/Image Wisely concepts to optimize radiation use.
• Maintain patient safety, positioning, and radiographic technique; monitor contrast safety.

Position Summary

The CT Technologist at the Freestanding Emergency Room and Urgent Care Clinic is responsible for performing CT procedures that are in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Hospital Policies and Procedures. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently and Image Wisely by the American College of Radiology. The CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David’s Healthcare Values.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

• Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology; and
• CT curriculum covering 3 semester hours of Sectional Anatomy; or
• 16 hours post graduate CEU’s Cross Sectional Anatomy

EXPERIENCE:

One Year Experience Performing Computed Tomography Procedures Is Preferred.

LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED:

• Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist; and
• Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR);and
• Post- primary CT certification within 1yearof CT assignment; and
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
