Job summary

The CT Technologist at St. David's South Austin Medical Center is responsible for performing CT procedures in accordance with ARRT standards and hospital policies.

You will optimize radiation use guided by Image Gently and Image Wisely, and demonstrate strong knowledge of anatomy, patient care, safety, positioning, and contrast administration as part of the radiology team. This Bastrop FSED PRN role requires graduation from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program, ARRT certification, Texas

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• CT curriculum covering Sectional Anatomy or 16 hours CEU in Cross-Sectional Anatomy.
• One year CT experience preferred.
• Texas DSHS Medical Radiologic Technologist license and ARRT radiology certification; post-primary CT certification within 1 year; BLS.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures per ARRT standards and hospital policies.
• Optimize radiation dose using Image Gently and Image Wisely.
• Demonstrate anatomy knowledge, patient care/safety, positioning, and radiation protection.
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to ARRT Code of Ethics.

Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The CT Technologist at the Freestanding Emergency Room and Urgent Care Clinic is responsible for performing CT procedures that are in accordance with standards and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology and Hospital Policies and Procedures. Optimizes the use of radiation by utilizing the concepts of Image Gently and Image Wisely by the American College of Radiology. The CT Technologist demonstrates knowledge of the human structure and functions, patient care/safety, positioning, principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection, medication safety (contrast) and specialized techniques. Maintains professional judgment and conduct that is complimentary of the ARRT Code of Ethics and St. David's Healthcare Values.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in Radiologic Technology; and

• CT curriculum covering 3 semester hours of Sectional Anatomy; or
• 16 hours post graduate CEU's Cross Sectional Anatomy

EXPERIENCE:One year experience performing Computed Tomography procedures is preferred.

LICENSED/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

• Certified or Temporary Certified by Texas Department of State Health Services as a Medical Radiologic Technologist; and
• Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT, RTR);and
• Post- primary CT certification within 1yearof CT assignment; and
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
