Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in the Computerized Tomography department provides imaging services to patients under the supervision of a registered CT Technologist.

This CT support role assists with patient positioning, exposure selection, and routine imaging procedures, while following ALARA safety standards and preparing equipment for each procedure. The position requires a Diploma/Associate’s or higher in science, RT(R) and ROC credentials, and BLS within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Diploma, Associate’s degree or higher in Science or related field required upon hire.
• RT(R) registration required upon hire.
• ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS - Basic Life Support within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists to position patients and selects exposure factors accurately.
• Utilizes radiation protection and ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Assists the physician in a variety of imaging procedures.
• May prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications within scope and regulations.
• Sets up and provides equipment and supplies before, during, and after procedures.
