Northside Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to join the radiology team in the Atlanta area. The role involves performing CT scans, adjusting parameters for optimal imaging, and ensuring patient safety throughout the procedure.

The position requires ARRT or NMTCB CT certification and BLS, with experience in CT scanning and PACS. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for collaborating with radiologists and staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT or NMTCB accredited school.
• Registered CT Technologist with the ARRT (CT) or NMTCB (CT).
• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Prior training or experience in Computerized Tomography (CT) scanning.
• Ability to insert intravenous catheter.

Responsibilities

• Collects pertinent medical information and reviews physician's orders to identify reason for examination and contraindications.
• Explains procedure to patient and ensures consent form is signed if required for examination.
• Positions patient and administers contrast; monitors patient reaction and responds to adverse reactions.
• Selects equipment parameters and logs pertinent information.
• Performs scanning procedure and modifies parameters to improve visualization of anatomy.
• Organizes images, performs the scan and transfers exam to PACS system.
• Aids with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and Inpatient areas.
• Communicates Acute Stroke cases to radiologist and certifies compliance with Acute Stroke protocols.
• Performs POC iSTAT testing and screen for contrast contraindications.
• Enters patient charges into computer.
• Monitors equipment for functionality and reports issues to CT Supervisor.
• Assists in orienting and training personnel.
• Follows safety procedures and reports malfunctions or injuries.
