Job summary

UPMC West Shore is seeking a CT Technologist to perform advanced diagnostic imaging and support CT procedures with minimal supervision, while contributing to patient care and department goals. You will work a 9am–9pm schedule, rotating through shifts, with on-call and holiday coverage, and may train staff, participate in QA, and protocol development with radiologists.

Qualifications include ARRT certification or CNMT, 2 years CT experience, BLS/CPR, and required clearances.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or CNMT program.
• 2 years CT experience required.
• Must have a strong/solid/good performance rating on most recent review to be eligible for promotion.

Responsibilities

• Performs or assists in QA, regulatory testing, and other technical initiatives.
• Assist with training of staff and student technologists.
• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced diagnostic imaging knowledge.
• Demonstrates competency with specialty equipment and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in system-level standardization workgroups.
• Cover shifts and on-call responsibilities; work at satellite facilities as needed.
• Collaborates with Radiologists on protocol development.

UPMC is seeking a CT Technologist to support the CT Scan at West Shore

Location: UPMC West Shore

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: 9am - 9pm rotating Monday through Friday. Rotating on-call and holidays are required

Candidates will be placed in the correct job title/salary grade within career ladder based on education and experience.

Purpose:

Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
• Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
• Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (i.e. 3D recon, cardiac scanning, etc.) and analyzes data promptly.
• Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
• Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
• Performs all job responsibilities of CT Tech I.
• Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.

Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.

2 years CT experience required.

Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
• Act 33 with renewal
• Act 34 with renewal
• Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
