Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging procedures while adhering to radiation safety standards. The role includes patient preparation, image acquisition, and documentation, with opportunities to cross-train in CT and participate in quality control tasks.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine program, ARRT and CT or NMTCB CT within 12 months, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Valid ARRT (R) and CT certification or NMTCB CT certification within 12 months of hire.
• Current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality patient care during diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Adheres to radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
• Ensures proper patient identification and documentation of history.
• Positions patient and equipment to obtain high quality images.
• Assesses images for technical quality and proper annotation.
• Applies standard precautions and PPE to prevent cross-contamination.

Position SummaryProvides quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention while adhering to radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Essential FunctionsExercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.

• Assesses the patient's physical condition and age specific needs.
• Provides instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
• Assesses diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Comprehends and complies with Quality Control standards and participates in all Quality Control tasks.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Performs venipuncture and evaluates IV access for the purpose of contrast administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Applies appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
• Assists in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
• Ensures safety of all customers.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
• Other Related FunctionsMaintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Education/TrainingGraduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology; or
• Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
• Licensure/CertificationMaintains current AHA BLS/Healthcare Provider certification AND
• Additionally, must meet one of the following criteria: Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification (R) and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification (CT); or o Valid Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) in (CT) within twelve (12) months of hire
