Job summary

Tenet-AZ Region in Peoria, AZ seeks a CT Technologist to perform a range of CT and related radiological procedures. The role requires technical skill to operate advanced equipment and collaboration with radiologists. The incumbent may perform duties of ARRT Technologist when CT is not being conducted and participate in on-call procedures as needed.

Shifts are 8 hours, with a 40-hour workweek, under Staff employment. A sign-on bonus may apply based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• ARRT certification or licensure as required for CT Technologist.
• Proficiency with CT equipment and related imaging protocols.
• Ability to perform duties of ARRT Technologist when not performing CT.
• Comfort with on-call procedures as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs radiological procedures including CT and vascular/interventional exams.
• Operates CT equipment with high technical skill and accuracy.
• Maintains communication with radiologists and other departments.
• Ensures proper patient positioning, history, and consent before testing.
• Follows PACS/RIS protocols and documents procedures accordingly.

Position Summary

Performs a variety of radiological procedures, including vascular, invasive, interventional examinations and computerized tomographic procedures. Possesses highly technical skills to operate sophisticated equipment. Ability to perform duties of ARRT Technologist when not performing CT. Responsible for on-call procedures when indicated.

• Assists in evaluation of new procedures and equipment.
• Performs proper billing/charging with computer systems.
• Uses CT equipment. Proficiency with general operating procedure i.e. start up procedures, calibration of equipment, troubleshooting, QC, preventative maintenance, malfunctioning equipment and problem solving.
• Maintains inter and intra departmental communication via phone, fax, computer etc. Maintains appropriate communication with radiologists. In depth knowledge of human anatomy, proper patient positioning and good technical judgment.
• Adequate assessment and explanation of procedure to patient before testing occurs. CT protocols, biopsy and all other invasive procedure. Adequate history, consent form and lab values checked and documented before administering IV contrast.
• Use proper protocol for PACS and RIS electronic system.
