A leading healthcare provider is seeking a Radiology Technologist Assistant to support the Radiology team in delivering essential patient care and administrative duties. Responsibilities include assisting patients with exams, maintaining procedure rooms, and data entry. Ideal candidates will possess a high school diploma, basic medical knowledge, and will have completed BLS certification.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of clerical, technical, and patient related duties according to established protocols. The Radiology Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the Radiology team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams/procedures and patient transporting. May be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and /or clinical services per operational needs. Performs related duties as required.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Assist patients and staff in Radiology Imaging Departments.
*Explain examination procedures to patients, help prepare them for the exam and review any screening forms associated with the exam.
*Assist Radiology/Imaging Team with Electronic Health Record data entry.
*Prepare procedure room and work areas to ensure stock is replenished (linen and related supplies) and the area is kept neat and clean.
*Perform clerical duties to include answering telephones, patient scheduling, RIS functions.
*Transport and escort patients to and from Radiology, both in hospital and ambulatory settings Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
*High School graduate or equivalent required.
*Basic computer knowledge required.
*Medical knowledge and terminology preferred.
*One (1) year clinical experience preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
* Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required upon hire or during orientation to department.
