Job summary

Akumin is seeking a qualified Computed Tomography Technologist in Wichita, Kansas. The role involves ensuring patient safety through pre-screening processes, producing high-quality diagnostic images, and training new technologists. Additionally, troubleshooting equipment and effective communication with customers and radiologists are key responsibilities.

Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, ARRT certification, and strong customer service skills. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered.

Job description

Sign-On Bonus: $2,500

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Use aseptic injection techniques.
• Produce high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicate with customers and/or radiologists.
• Train new technologists and/or patient coordinators.
• Troubleshoot the scanner, coaching system and all peripheral equipment (e.g., monitors, PACS).

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologist by the ARRT. If allowable by state, certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license; licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves.
• Active State Driver’s License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Physical Requirements

The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease. More than 50% of the time: sit, stand, walk; repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs; see, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients. Less than 50% of the time: stoop, kneel or crawl; climb and balance; carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).
