Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT exams and support our radiology team. The role emphasizes quality imaging, patient safety, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The selected candidate will maintain ARRT/competency, ensure proper patient prep, and uphold radiation safety while delivering compassionate care and education to patients and students alike.

Qualifications

• ARRT Radiography Certification/Registration required.
• State licensure where required.
• BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• ARRT CT Certification/Registration preferred.
• Facility-based certifications may be required per site.
• 1+ years CT experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality.
• Assists and instructs students and other CT Techs in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment.
• Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns.
• Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques.
• Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.

Minimum Qualifications CT Technologist I

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(RT)(R) Radiography Certification/Registration




• Relevant State licensure (where required)




• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers

Preferred Qualifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Computed Tomography Certification/Registration (ARRT)(RT)(CT)




• (Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module




• (Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation module




• Specific facility-based certifications may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility would define and manage compliance.




• 1+ years CT experience

Minimum Qualifications CT Technologist II

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - (ARRT)(R)




• Relevant State licensure (where required)




• IV Competency within 30 days of hire




• Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers




• Proficiency in 5 of the following areas: Computed Tomography Certification/Registration, Interventional CT, Cryo/microwave ablations, CT Coronary Angiography, TAVR, TMVR, Cardiac, Stroke perfusion imaging, Pediatric CT (less than 15yrs of age) in at least 80% of patient workload). Note: Must complete a minimum of 5 cases per specialty procedure accompanied with documented skills pass off by a lead CT tech.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.




• Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.




• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.




• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.




• Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This
