Job summary

Indiana University Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton, Indiana, seeks a CT Technologist for three 12.5-hour night shifts per week (6:30 PM–7:00 AM). You will independently perform CT and X-ray imaging across the hospital, supporting a variety of imaging needs in a critical access setting.

The role requires the CT/X-ray technologist to operate the CT scanner, position patients, and ensure safety and image quality. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of radiology experience.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • ARRT or NMTCB eligibility/credentials required; CT certification within 12 months of hire.
  • ISDH license as Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technologist required.
  • Ability to maneuver and position patients and equipment as needed.
  • Adherence to radiation safety and QC protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CT scanner and X-ray equipment; position patients and obtain diagnostic images.
  • Screen patients for safe scanning and administer contrast when required.
  • Document procedures in the EMR and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians; follow safety protocols.
  • Assist in emergency medical situations and provide patient care support.

Job description

Overview

This is a full-time, nights CT Technologist opportunity at IU Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton, Indiana.

Schedule
  • Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday
  • 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Three 12.5-hour night shifts per week
Position Overview

This role is ideal for a technologist who enjoys working independently in a critical access hospital setting. During overnight hours, the selected candidate will work independently within the department and perform duties as both a CT Technologist and X-Ray Technologist, supporting a variety of imaging needs across the hospital.

Job Duties, Tasks and Qualifications: Operates CT scanner, prepares and positions patients. Screens patients for safe scanning and safe administration of contrast. Obtains IV access, and administers contrast as required and is familiar with recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses knowledge of scan protocols and selection of appropriate protocol to address clinical concerns. Adjusts scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Follows radiation safety protocols. Performs routine QC on equipment. Stays current with continuing education. Assists in medical alert situations. Communicates effectively with patients, families and members of the care team. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

Requirements
  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status through one of the following: American Registry of Radiology Technology (ARRT): Registered Technologist - Radiography , RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB): Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT).
  • Requires advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable.
