Job Summary

Following established protocols and under the supervision of certified radiologists, CT technologists produce CT scans to assist in diagnosis. They support radiologists and supervise student technologists, maintaining good customer relations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and care during imaging procedures, following protocols and obtaining correct orders. Manage time efficiently and assist in educating student technologists.
• Use imaging equipment efficiently, minimizing repeats and controlling costs.
• Prepare and instruct patients, obtain informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions effectively.
• Accurately enter orders and clinical information into the system, communicate effectively with radiologists, and maintain professionalism.
• Follow safety policies, practice radiation safety according to ALARA principles, and maintain licensure and certifications.
• Collaborate with team members, assist with administrative tasks, and contribute to departmental improvements.

Minimum Requirements

• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to perform and teach CT exams, knowledge of safety standards, and operational skills for CT equipment.

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma/GED
• SCRQSA Radiographer Certification
• ARRT Radiography Certification
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Preferred Certifications

• ANM from AART
