Job summary

Akumin is hiring a CT Technologist for our Port Charlotte facility. This is a part-time role focused on delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging with patient-centered care.

The CT Tech will prepare and position patients, perform CT scans, ensure safety, and communicate clearly with patients and radiologists to obtain excellent image studies. Flexibility to work in a dynamic outpatient setting is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate degree preferred.
• ARRT CT certification; NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT where allowed by state.
• State license and CPR certification required.
• Strong customer service and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

We are currently hiring for a CT Technologist at our Port Charlotte facility. This will be a Part-Time position.

Our CT Tech use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence. And, because our techs work in a variety of environments—a freestanding outpatient center, a mobile coach, or a hospital-based/inpatient facility—their flexibility allows them to deliver the absolute best imaging care at any access point.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections. Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
• Troubleshoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
  • If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry.
• State license.
  • Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable.
• CPR certification.
• Technologists performing mid-day moves.
  • Active State Driver’s License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
• The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.
