Job summary

Akumin is seeking a CT Technologist for our Port Charlotte facility. This part-time position focuses on producing high-quality CT images and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process.

The role requires ARRT CT registration (or NMTCB in lieu where approved), state licensure, CPR certification, and strong patient-service skills. You will work with radiologists and other staff, train new technologists, and support the efficiency of imaging operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT.
• NMTCB acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry where state allows.
• State license required.
• CPR certification.
• Active State Driver's License.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

Responsibilities

• Ensures patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Uses aseptic injection techniques as needed.
• Produces high quality diagnostic CT images.
• Communicates effectively with patients and radiologists.
• Trains new technologists and/or PC's.
• Troubleshoots the scanner and peripheral equipment (monitors, PACS, etc.).

We are currently hiring for a CT Technologist at our Port Charlotte facility. This will be a Part-Time position.

CT Tech use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain the procedure and put them at ease. With a caring attitude and keen attention to detail, they ensure patient comfort, safety and satisfaction every step of the way. They show their technical competence by effectively interpreting physician orders/instructions and selecting appropriate software options and imaging parameters to produce the highest-quality CT images/studies possible—enabling physicians to diagnose with pinpoint accuracy and treat with confidence.

Specific duties

• Ensures Patient Safety, including pre-screening for contra-indications to radiation and contrast injections.
• Also, the use of aseptic injection techniques.
• Produces high quality diagnostic images.
• Effectively communicates with customers and/or radiologists.
• Trains new technologist and/or PC's.
• Trouble-shoots the scanner, coach and all peripheral equipment (including: monitors, PACS, etc.).

Position Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience
• Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
• Registered Computed Tomography Technologists by the ARRT
• If allowable by state where service is provided certification by the NMTCB in Computed Tomography acceptable in lieu of ARRT registry
• State license
• Licensed in Medical Imaging, if applicable
• CPR certification
• Technologists performing mid-day moves
• Active State Driver's License
• Strong customer service skills
• Organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs
