Job summary

Berkshire Health Systems is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT capabilities to perform a range of radiologic procedures, including IV insertions, in a fast-paced clinical environment. The role requires independent judgment and adherence to safety and patient care standards.

Candidates should have completed a JRCERT-approved Radiologic Technology Program, Massachusetts radiology licensure, ARRT(RTR), and CPR certification. Prior CT training is preferred and training is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year X-Ray tech experience preferred.
• Must have completed formal JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform primary diagnostic Radiology and CT Scan tasks including IV insertion and injections.
• Operate and troubleshoot CR, DR, CT, and PACS applications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and infection control in line with hospital policies.

Job description

• Every Weekend Sat/Sun 16 hours 7:00am to 11:00pm.
• DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION
• Perform a wide variety of technical procedures, requiring independent judgment and critical thinking. Requires initiative to apply appropriate skills to facilitate a diagnosis. May be assigned independent responsibilities by Lead Technologist, Administrative Director, Operations Manager, or NARH Facility Director. Proper care of the client in accordance with the departmental and hospital policies and procedures is required. May be responsible for assigned areas to assume responsibilities of supervision or instruction to department personnel or as determined by Manager or Director. Excellent communication skills in written, verbal and Tiger Text format required. Practices infection control in clinical practice in compliance with departmental and hospital policies and OSHA standards. Maintains patient confidentiality. Demonstrates proper operation of PACS, HIS and RIS computer systems. Demonstrates ability to operate and trouble shoot CR, DR, CT, and PACs applications. Completes annual mandatory education to include blood borne pathogens, infection control, and body substance isolation. Maintains department competencies as required. Technologist will be required to perform primary diagnostic Radiology and CT Scan tasks including IV insertion and injections. such as transportation of patients when needed.
• POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)
• Experience:
• Minimum of 1 year X-Ray tech experience preferred.
• Education and Training:
• Must have completed formal JRCERT approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• License, Certification & Registration:
• MALIC – Massachusetts Radiology License
• ARRT(RTR) - Registered Technologist Radiography.
• CT Technologist Certification preferred, but training is available.
• CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is required.
