Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a CT Technologist to capture precise diagnostic images for Radiologists, enabling accurate diagnoses. You will create cross-sectional images of bones, tissues and organs while delivering compassionate patient care to ensure a comforting imaging experience.

You will follow imaging protocols, assist Interventional Radiology, verify contrast and IV needs, and document exams in RadNet.

Qualifications

• Completion of ARRT CT or equivalent radiologic program.
• Two years CT tech experience.
• Must hold AZ DHS CRT/CT certification.
• Must hold CT ARRT certification.
• AHA/ACLS or BLS for Healthcare Providers as CT CPRBLS.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT scans per protocol or radiologist guidance (Trauma/ER, Perfusions, Routine Body/Neuro, Interventional).
• Assist Interventional Radiology with targeted area scans (biopsies, drainages).
• Verify patient readiness: IV gauge, contrast type/dose, allergy status.
• Accurately document exams in RadNet and related forms.
• Manage protocol selection and coordinate with physicians as needed.
• Promote teamwork and positive communication within the department.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions.

Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

• Performs CT scans based on current protocols and/or radiologist recommendations i.e. Trauma/ER, Perfusions, Routine Body, Routine Neuro and Interventional Procedures
• Assists Interventional Radiology by accurately scanning the area of interest requested by Radiologist i.e. biopsies and drainages
• Ensures patient is ready for scan i.e. confirms appropriate gauge IV needle, appropriate type/dose of contrast and allergy status
• Accurately and thoroughly completes hospital/department specific forms per protocol i.e. completes exams in Radnet, incident reports/extravasation forms, patient contrast information forms, side/site forms and documents exam information in CT log
• Performs protocol management by evaluating and determining area of interest and type of scan to be performed on patient, consults physician as necessary
• Encourages good working relationships, promotes team effort within the department by communicating in a positive manner and motivates staff

Job Requirements

Required

• Completion of approved American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) or equivalent approved Radiologic Technologist Program.
• Two years CT Tech experience
• Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT) and CTCT: Certified Technologist/Computed Tomography
• Must also hold and maintain national American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (CT ARRT) and
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)

Preferred

• Three years of CT experience

Pay Range

$37.40 - $55.63 /hour
