The role you’ll contribute:
Under general supervision, the primary duties of a CT Technologist include performing imaging for both neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, adhering to age-specific guidelines and facility parameters. Responsibilities encompass conducting examinations according to established protocols, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and ensuring the hospital computer system is kept current with the progress of these exams. This role necessitates performing a variety of technical scanning procedures that require independent judgment, initiative, and the application of ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. The technologist must also assist physicians in performing procedures, maintaining records of examinations performed, and, where appropriate and licensed, may function as a Radiology Technologist or assist in the Radiology Department. In addition to imaging duties, the CT Technologist is expected to provide quality patient care, perform high-quality images and exams with sensitivity to patient needs, and adhere to safe radiation practices. Demonstrating leadership abilities, acting as a clinical resource, and assuming responsibility for related tasks as needed are also key aspects of the role. The CT Technologist is committed to outstanding customer service, maintains equally respectful relationships with all, and implements the principles of the hospital or healthcare facility. They must also adhere to the compliance plan and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies.
