Job description

Requirements:

• Licensing with NYS DOH as a Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.)
• ARRT certification in Radiography and CT
• BLS certification
• At least 1 year of CT experience
• Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program

Skills:

Performs CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy. Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient's needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.

Duties:

• Utilizes appropriate kV and mA techniques to produce quality diagnostic CT images.
• Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper operation before patient studies.
• Injects patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following prescribed protocols.
• Maintains all department documentation, logs, manuals, charge documents, and reports equipment issues to comply with regulatory standards.
• Conducts quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to adhere to ALARA principles.
• Maintains and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
• Verifies receipt and activity level of radiopharmaceuticals upon delivery, following policies and procedures.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CT technologist experience required; experience with Siemens scanners highly preferred.
