Job summary

American Health Imaging in Myrtle Beach, SC is hiring a registered CT Technologist for a full-time position. You will perform high-quality CT scans and deliver excellent patient care in a new outpatient imaging center opening October 2026.

Responsibilities include selecting protocols, explaining procedures, maintaining QA, and following safety guidelines along with RIS/PACS documentation. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • ARRT and CT Registry required.
  • Graduate of approved Radiological Technology program.
  • Current BLS/CPR training.
  • CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations and critique images for diagnostic quality.
  • Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors by patient factors.
  • Explain procedures to patients and respond to questions.
  • Position patients and assist on/off examination table.
  • Verify patient information and obtain medical history.
  • Obtain IV contrast consent and manage adverse effects.
  • Perform venipuncture for IV contrast administration.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media per procedures.
  • Operate CT scanner per manufacturer guidelines and service needs.
  • Use RIS/PACS for processing and documentation.
  • Maintain clean, safe exam environment.
  • Conduct daily/monthly QA on scanner.
  • Follow ALARA, Image Gently/Wisely, and HIPAA rules.
  • Initiate basic life support when needed.

Job description

This new outpatient imaging center is scheduled to open in October 2026.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

Lumexa Imaging partner American Health Imaging is looking for a registered CT Technologist for a full-time position in Myrtle Beach, SC. As a registered CT Technologist, you will perform high quality scans while providing excellent customer care and service to patients.

Responsibilities
  • Perform CT examinations as ordered and accurately critique images to ensure diagnostic quality.
  • Choose appropriate protocol and technical factors according to age, size and symptoms of patient
  • Provide thorough explanation of procedure to the patient, anticipating and responding to patients’ needs and questions
  • Position patients appropriately for ordered exam and assist patients on/off examination table as needed.
  • Verify patient information and obtain comprehensive medical history including any related prior studies
  • Obtain consent for administration of IV contrast and follow established practices to provide treatment, documentation and follow-up in the case of any adverse effects of IV contrast administration
  • Perform venipuncture for administration of IV contrast
  • Prepare and administer contrast media according to established practices
  • Utilize scanner within manufacture guidelines and take appropriate action for service as needed
  • Utilize PACS and RIS for image processing and accurate documentation
  • Maintain clear and safe environment, which includes preparing room for each patient
  • Perform daily and monthly QA procedures on scanner
  • Follow ALARA principles, Image Gently and Image Wisely to insure safe radiation practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA and Corporate Compliance regulations
  • Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
  • Use infection control practices
  • Maintain punctuality and regular attendance
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Graduate of approved program for Radiological Technology
  • ARRT and CT Registry required
  • Current BLS/CPR training
  • CT scanner operation and training
  • CT anatomy and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of operation system of CT scanner, RIS and PACS
  • Basic proficiency with computer monitors, keyboard and mouse for scanning, RIS and PACS use
  • Organized, detail oriented, observant
  • Calm and effective communicator
  • Helpful, patient and sympathetic

Physical Demands of the Position
  • Lifting/moving patients, positioning the patients
  • Assisting patients on and off table and into a wheelchair, when required
