Job description

Join to apply for the CT Technologist role at McLaren Health Care.

Position Summary: Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of specific areas consistent with established policies and procedures, typically requiring general supervision.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Obtain patient history, explain standard procedures, and address patient concerns to foster comfort and confidence, ensuring individual patient needs are met.
  2. Operate and maintain all assigned imaging department equipment, including tomography scanners.
  3. Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures by explaining the process and positioning them correctly to capture the requested images.
  4. Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications within the technologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
  5. Complete quality assurance processes and practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients, staff, and self.
  6. Maintain all required documentation, logs, charts, forms, and records in both paper and electronic formats.
  7. Ensure an adequate supply of consumables to perform quality testing.
  8. Perform routine maintenance and function checks on all imaging equipment following established protocols.
  9. Assist other areas of radiology as assigned.
  10. Perform other related duties as required and directed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Computed Tomography Technologist.
  • If not CT Certified, cross-train from another ARRT modality to become CT Certified within 12 months.
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school of radiology technology.
  • Certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
  • Current BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or Canadian equivalent, valid at least 60 days beyond the start date.
