Job Description

The CT Tech in Medical Imaging is responsible for the day-to-day clinical, technical, and operational functions within the CT department. This role involves collaborating with supervisors and lead techs to coordinate activities across all CT departments, ensuring proper patient flow and staff coverage. Responsibilities include the efficient use of technical, physical, and human resources, and ensuring compliance with patient care quality standards for patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics. The technologist participates in performance improvement and CQI activities and performs diagnostic x-ray procedures as part of their duties at assigned locations.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from an AMA Radiologic Technology Program.
• Registered in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and board certified in a specialty (ARRT (R), ARRT (CT)).
• Required upon hire: ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT).
• Must regularly perform diagnostic x-ray procedures.
• Preferred: minimum of 1 year CT tech experience in an acute setting.
• BCLS certification: if not obtained upon hire, must be acquired within 90 days and maintained as a condition of employment.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and adaptability to effectively work with patients and healthcare team members.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of human development and ability to work effectively with patients of all ages.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to assist and move patients.
• Proficiency in operating a computer for data input and retrieval.
