Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston, TX is seeking a CT Technologist to capture precise diagnostic images and support radiologists in accurate diagnoses. You will perform CT exams, ensure equipment readiness, and maintain infection control throughout the imaging process.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, TX Medical Radiography, ARRT radiography, RTCT within 9 months of hire, and BLS. On-site at Baylor Medicine McNair Campus.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED, upon hire.
  • Medical Radiographer: TX, upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire.
  • Registered Technologist Computed Tomography (RTCT) within 9 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certified, issued by the American Heart Association, upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT exams on patients according to departmental protocols under the Medical Director.
  • Prepares equipment ensuring it is operational, safe and functional according to diagnostic standards.
  • Troubleshoots equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representatives as needed.
  • Maintains daily equipment and room readiness and adheres to infection control standards.
  • Completes all quality checks and maintains equipment logs.
  • Manages clinical supply inventories to ensure radiology rooms have required supplies.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our CT Technologist, you will utilize your expertise to capture precise diagnostic images, enabling our Radiologists to accurately diagnose and/or rule out diverse medical conditions.

Every day, you will adeptly create detailed cross-sectional images of the skeleton, tissues, and internal organs. Your compassionate interaction and skill in patient care will be crucial, as you play a significant role in fostering a positive and comforting patient experience throughout the imaging process.

To be successful in this role, you will deeply understand the critical importance of diagnostic imaging. This includes a comprehensive knowledge of general imaging workflow, various patient positioning techniques, and the ability to consistently capture clear results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses that guide effective patient care.

  • Performs CT exams on patients according to the specific departmental procedure protocols under the direction of the Medical Director.
  • Prepares equipment ensuring that equipment is operational, safe and functioning according to diagnostic standards
  • Problem‐solves equipment failure and imaging quality and contacts service representative or CES regarding equipment problems
  • Ensures that daily equipment and room maintenance are performed during/ after each procedure, and that special precautions and measures are performed to ensure infection control standards.
  • Completes all quality checks and Ensures that equipment logs are maintained
  • Completes all clinical supply inventories, ensuring that each diagnostic room is complete with the necessary supplies required to perform the procedure

Pay Range
