Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a CT Technologist for the Bismarck Med Ctr in Bismarck, ND. You will perform diagnostic CT scans, produce high-quality images, and provide patient‑centered care while applying professional judgment and safety protocols.

Key responsibilities include operating CT equipment, collaborating with staff, and adapting to on-call rotations as needed. A strong AMA-approved Radiologic Technology background with ARRT certification is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program or JCERT-accredited equivalent.
• ARRT certification required at the time of hire; CT training/experience preferred.
• ND licensure through the NDMIRT Board or cross-border requirements as applicable.
• BLS and IV certification within six weeks of employment and recertification as necessary.
• Ability to perform CT procedures and related radiology tasks with professional judgment.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. Possesses the skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Has the ability to learn and utilize new technology as well as orient new employees. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care. On a continuum, the CT Technologist works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works well with all age groups. Sanford Rural Network Facilities sites may expand job responsibilities based on the needs of the facility, to include, but not limited to: on-call rotation nights, weekends, and holidays. Perform diagnostic radiology procedures. Perform basic diagnostic radiology tasks and aware of general radiology protocols. May perform mobile imaging, electrocardiogram (EKG), cardiac monitor placement, and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Qualifications

Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school or Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JCERT) accredited program is required. Computerized Tomography (CT) training or experience preferred. American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is required at the time of hire. Per Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) and American College of Radiology (ACR) accreditation requirements, CT certification obtained within two years is preferred. If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required. If working in Aberdeen, South Dakota (SD), CT certification is required within 24 months of hire. In the state of Iowa, all technologists must have a permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health in order to practice in the state of Iowa. Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
