Responsibilities include:
- Performing CT procedures using established protocols, including contrast administration without constant supervision.
- Utilizing complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation, following protocols.
- Ensuring proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams, and accurate billing.
- Administering contrast media as per physician orders and assessing patient risks.
- Communicating clearly with patients, explaining procedures to alleviate fears, and ensuring cooperation.
- Adjusting protocols independently and applying radiation appropriately for diagnostic purposes.
- Interacting professionally with patients and staff, demonstrating care, listening, dignity, and respect.
- Properly identifying patients, reviewing history, and applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition.
- Demonstrating proper venipuncture technique and use of power injectors.
Minimum requirements:
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology school or accredited CNMT program.
- ARRT certification as a Radiologic Technologist or CNMT certification.
- Must obtain CT Board Certification within 18 months of hire.
- CPR/BLS certification required.
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting within 90 days of hire, plus Act 33, 34, 73 clearances, and FBI clearance.
