Major Responsibilities

• Performs Computed Tomography procedures utilizing General Electric Revolution, Lightspeed, Brightspeed, and HD750 Computerized Tomography Systems according to established operating procedures, clinical protocols, and imaging techniques.
• Performs computerized post-processing of images using reconstruction software appropriate to the pathology or region of interest under investigation.
• Addresses minor customer complaints. Tactfully resolves complaints; refers difficult complaints or sensitive issues to higher authority.
• Coordinates the scheduling of inpatients and outpatients to ensure efficient utilization of CT equipment and personnel.
• Performs Quality Assurance Tests on CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality and equipment performance.
• Maintains equipment safety by performing daily Tube Warm Up and Calibrations on CT scanners.
• Communicates equipment issues or concerns to appropriate personnel and/or ILinqs issues directly to GE service.
• Maintains appropriate cleanliness of diagnostic and support equipment.
• Obtains patient history and other relevant clinical information; documents all patient information on appropriate forms in preparation for review and dictation by a radiologist.
• Responsible for charging of patient examinations, and preparing images and clinical information for interpretation by a radiologist.
• Starts IVs using appropriate technique, prepares and administers contrast material, and monitors patient condition during the CT procedure.
• Maintains appropriate inventory levels of medical supplies.
• Initiates requests for emergency medical support as indicated by patient condition; this includes Code Blue, Respiratory Distress, etc.

Education/Experience Required

• 12-24 months experience in radiology
• Graduate of Radiologic Technology program
• 2 hours of stroke education/year

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Knowledge and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and CT procedures
• Able to perform all routine CT procedures
• Good oral & written communication skills
• Computer competent
• ARRT Registry (RT), IDNS License, CPR, IV Certification within 3 months of hire, CT Registration within 1 year of hire

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions

• Able to respond to work requests on short notice
• Flexible start times, may require rotating shifts and alternate days
• Exposed to infectious diseases
• Must take call and work overtime when requested
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds; patient handling equipment for heavier lifts
