MedStar Health is looking for a CT (Computed Tomography) Technologist to join our team at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. The ideal candidate will be a certified CT Technologist who exhibits professionalism, courtesy, and excellent customer service while interacting with patients, guests, and coworkers. The candidate should be able to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and maintain patient confidentiality.
As a CT Technologist, you will perform complex specialized tasks associated with operating CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. You will position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.

Assist radiologists with imaging procedures, including starting IVs and injecting contrast if applicable. Assist with interventional CT procedures. Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate images, and label appropriately. Transmit films to PACS. Charge procedures and supplies correctly. Assist in the administration of chemical substances to render specific organs or systems opaque. Dispense oral contrast to patients for CT scans.
Review patient charts and requests with radiologists to ensure proper examinations and diagnostic results. Maintain quality control of images, inventory, and safety compliance. Participate in training department personnel, including students. Load and operate power injections for contrast media. Maintain accurate patient records. Assist with orientation and training of new CT technologists.
Manage scheduling and patient flow on multiple interventional CT scanners. Assist with research and development projects with CT equipment manufacturers. Participate in research initiatives and protocol development.
Monitor charging of CT procedures and supplies daily for accuracy. Participate in departmental performance improvement. Assess patients' conditions to determine proper handling and specific requirements. Explain procedures and prepare patients for exams.
Utilize extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain diagnostic images. Attend safety training programs and understand responsibilities related to safety hazards.
This position has a hiring range of $34.98 - $62.52 per hour.
