Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking a Radiologic Technologist specialized in CT to perform routine imaging on a scheduled and emergency basis, adhering to QC/Exam Data Integrity workflows and ALARA principles. Requirements include an Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), ARRT RT/CT with current ARRT certification, and BLS.

Minimum 1 year of radiologic technologist experience. You will review requisitions, ensure patient safety, and contribute to high-quality imaging services for pediatric

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Allied Health; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
  • Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures; abstracts data from charts and determines appropriateness.
  • Identify patients with 2 identifiers as per policy.
  • Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g., 3D).
  • Selects equipment and factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assesses patients' and parents' status; plans adjustments for patient needs.
  • Explain examination; address questions on exam and radiation exposure (ALARA).
  • Provides exceptional care and service.
  • Follows QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow and High Reliability Training.

Position Summary:

Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
  • Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
  • Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
  • Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
  • Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
  • Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
  • Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
  • Practices High Reliability Training.

  • Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

  • Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.

  • Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:

Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.

Experience:

1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist

Licensure/ Certifications:
  • RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
  • BLS certification.
