Job summary

Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT procedures and ensure patient safety across age groups in a busy radiology department.

The role requires experience with Siemens CT systems (16 and 64-slice) and a strong commitment to quality patient care, safety protocols, and collaboration with radiologists and staff. On-site hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

  • One-year experience in a Hospital or clinical environment.
  • Training involving all age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric.
  • Skilled in Siemens CT equipment, 16 and 64 slice.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT procedures including startup, test scans, programming selections, media injections, and exam processing.
  • Monitor patient safety and interview prior to the CT exam; discuss problems with radiologist as needed.
  • Ensure CT environment safety; report issues to the Director of Radiology promptly.
  • Position and transfer patients; assist with patient comfort during scanning.
  • Explain CT procedures to patients and coordinate with radiologists for protocol adjustments.
  • Operate radiographic equipment to obtain standard diagnostic x-rays; position patients with immobilization devices.
  • Maintain records of procedures in logbook and keep area orderly.

Summary

Performs a variety of Computed Tomography (CT) procedures for the diagnosis of disease; provides appropriate care and service to patients of all age specific group. CT Technologist exercises independence ingenuity and initiative while performing the exam. Assume responsibility for the preparation, monitoring, care, and safety of the patient.

Essential Functions

Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.   • Perform all routine aspect of CT procedures including start up procedures, test scans. Programs selection, media injections, filming and exam processing.
  • Effectively monitor patient safety at all times. Interview patient prior to the CT exam. Potential problems are discussed with radiologist if necessary.
  • Monitor equipment to ensure the CT environment is safe and all systems are in proper working order. Report any potential or actual problems to the Director of Radiology in a timely manner.
  • Perform tasks such as lifting, positioning, and transferring patients on/off exam table.
  • Accurately explains the CT procedure to the patients ensures patient comfort while on the scanner, assures positioning of the patient and successful completion of the exam or the radiologist protocol. Work closely with the CT radiologist taking suggestions, changes, additions or corrections to procedures by CT radiologists.
  • Operates complex radiographic equipment for purposes of obtaining standard diagnostic x-rays, positions patients utilizing various immobilization devices such as sponges and sand bags are required, selects proper technical factors.
  • Completes standard consultation form and maintains accurate records of all procedures in logbook.
  • Cleans and maintains orderliness in assigned area; maintains adequate supplies. Notifies Director of Radiology of any shortage.
  • Adheres to appropriate universal precautionary measures as outlined in the infection IIP program.
  • Develops x-ray films utilizing automatic equipment.
  • May participate in formal teaching programs and in-service education classes as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required such as orienting new personnel to department procedures.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience

One-year experience in a Hospital or clinical environment. Previous training involving all age groups, neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric. Skilled in Siemens CT equipment, 16 and 64 slice.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

ARRT/CRT in X-RAY and CT. and current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association certification required.
