Job summary

SageWest Health Care in Wyoming seeks a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT imaging to support patient diagnosis and treatment in an acute care hospital setting. You will prepare patients, position them for scans, verify history, and ensure high-quality images while adhering to safety protocols.

Work alongside radiologists and care teams to maintain accurate records, manage contrast media under radiologist direction, and participate in ongoing education to stay current with ARRT

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • ARRT Radiography Certification and state licensing where required.
  • BCLS certification upon hire.
  • Experience in diagnostic imaging preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress hospital environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Verify patient identity and obtain relevant clinical history before initiating procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the EMR.
  • Practice radiation safety measures to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
  • Assist in quality control, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to emergencies, including contrast reactions, and provide appropriate care.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to optimize patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain ARRT certification and stay current.

Job Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic CT imaging procedures to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role includes patient preparation, positioning, and ensuring the accurate acquisition of CT images while adhering to radiation safety protocols. The CT Technologist works closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality diagnostic images in an acute care hospital setting.

Essential Functions
  • Perform CT imaging procedures in accordance with established protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Verify patient identity and obtain relevant clinical history before initiating procedures.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media under the direction of a radiologist.
  • Operate CT imaging equipment to capture high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Practice radiation safety measures to minimize patient and staff exposure.
  • Assist in quality control procedures, equipment calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  • Respond to emergency situations, including contrast media reactions, and provide appropriate care.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare staff to optimize patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain ARRT certification and stay current with best practices.

Qualifications
  • Education
    • Postsecondary (Cert/Diploma/Program Grad) graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology (Required) And
    • Associate’s Degree in radiologic technology (Preferred)
  • Licenses/Certifications
    • ARRT Radiography Certification and state-specific licensing where required (TX, CA, FL and KY) Upon Hire (Required) And
    • (RT)(CT) ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) within 1 Year (Preferred) And
    • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire (Required)
    • In Texas, MRT certificate (Texas Medical Board) is required to perform radiologic procedures, including CT. Upon Hire Required
    • In California, CRT license (CDPH Radiologic Health Branch) is required to perform CT procedures. Upon Hire Required
  • Experience
    • 1-3 years of experience in diagnostic imaging, including CT procedures (Preferred) And
    • Prior Experience in a hospital or acute care setting (Preferred)
  • Additional Qualifications Clarification
    • In Texas, MRT certificate (Texas Medical Board) is required to perform radiologic procedures, including CT. (Required proficiency)
    • In California, CRT license (CDPH Radiologic Health Branch) is required to perform CT procedures. (Required proficiency)
