Job summary

AdventHealth in Sebring, FL is seeking a CT technologist to perform high-quality CT examinations, ensure safety, and collaborate with radiologists. The role requires CT training, ARRT certification, and strong patient communication.

This PRN position offers opportunities for growth and meaningful patient care within a faith-based healthcare system. Responsibilities include operating CT equipment, ensuring ALARA practices, documenting in EMR/PACS, and assisting with contrast administration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Registered Technologist RT(R) (ARRT) required
• BLS/CPR certification required
• 1+ year radiology/CT training preferred
• Knowledge of CT procedures and safety

Responsibilities

• Operate CT equipment safely and maintain ALARA.
• Follow patient IDs, informed consent, and time-out procedures.
• Document exams in EMR and PACS.
• Educate patients about the exam and maintain workflow.
• Collaborate with radiologists to ensure image quality.
• Review patient history to confirm exam appropriateness.
• Administer IV contrast per safety guidelines.
• Position patients accurately to ensure comfort and radiation safety.

Job Description

• Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.
• Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
• Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.
• Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.
• Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.
• Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education

Work Experience

• 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of CT training program [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Technologist – Radiography (RT(R) (ARRT)) [Required]
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Computed Tomography (ARRT-CT) [Preferred]
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range: $27.95 - $51.98
