Requirements
- 1 year of acute care hospital CT experience.
- ARRT-CT and ARRT-R Radiography certifications.
- BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire/transfer.
- Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
Job Summary
The CT Technologist, supervised by a Radiologist, performs CT procedures on patients to aid in diagnosis. The technologist follows established protocols and works as part of a healthcare team.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Performs high‑quality CT procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates knowledge of radiation dose reference levels and takes action if exceeded.
- Uses iSTAT point‑of‑care testing to obtain creatinine levels.
- Communicates with patients through AIDET, ensuring correct exams and patient comfort.
- Prepares the patient and equipment, adjusting controls to set exposure factors.
- Protects patients and employees by following safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies.
- Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
- Reports issues to management, assists with supplies inventory, and ensures safe entry screening.
- Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation (requisition, chart, history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms).
- Maintains medical imaging records in the appropriate system and ensures timely interpretation.

- Be available to take call if required.
Certifications / Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic program.
- 1 year of acute care hospital CT experience.
- ARRT-CT Certified and ARRT-R (or Nuclear Medicine) Certified; CNMT accepted.
- BLS certification.
- Licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).
