Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Radiologic Technologist with CT experience to perform routine and specialized imaging across modalities in a busy facility. Under general supervision, you will ensure patient care and safety.

Responsibilities include selecting technical factors, administering contrast, documenting in the EHR, and participating in quality improvement initiatives; ARRT registration and an accredited radiologic technology program required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in radiologic technology from an accredited program.
  • ARRT certification/registration.
  • Working competency in additional modality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiology exams in CT, MRI, mammography, or interventional radiology as needed per facility protocols.
  • Select appropriate technical factors for each patient and ensure patient care is appropriate for age.
  • Administer contrast according to facility policy.
  • Adhere to safety, regulatory, and quality standards across facilities.
  • Document patient care activities in electronic health records.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and staff training.

Must have CT experience. Schedule: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts, 6:30a-7p.

Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures in at least two imaging modalities.

Primary Responsibilities

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification. They are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all job responsibilities performed.

  • Executes basic clinical competence in general radiology, in all locations across all patient types; in addition, performs exams and procedures as needed in one of the following modalities: CT, MRI, mammography, and/or interventional radiology in accordance to facility protocols.
  • Selects accurate technical factors on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age of the patient.
  • Administers contrast according to facility policy.
  • Applies knowledge of radiology principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation/MR safety and physics, patient positioning and patient care skills.
  • Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
  • Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
  • Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment.
  • Maintains supplies and inventory in area.
  • Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors.
  • Documents and reports related equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
  • Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience and quality.
  • Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Work Experience Education & Experience

- Required

  • Associate degree, Certificate, or advanced degree in radiologic technology, or modalities of employment, from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Working competency in additional modality.
  • No experience required.
  • Registered with American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
