Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT exams under the supervision of a Radiologist. You will serve patients across neonatal to geriatric ages in a busy Georgia imaging department.

The successful candidate will have ARRT eligibility/registration and BLS certification, and graduates from an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited program. A minimum of 6 months' experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program.
  • 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist preferred.
  • ARRT and BLS upon hire required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates competence and proficiency in performing all CT procedures on patients of all age groups.
  • Positions patient, selects protocol, and utilizes equipment.
  • Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
  • Adheres to imaging protocols for exams being performed.
  • Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the dose reduction program.
  • Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards.
  • Position and use imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams when requested.

Responsibilities

Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists specialize in using ionizing radiation to produce cross-sectional images to help doctors diagnose and treat patients. CT Technologists perform diagnostic Computerized Tomographic examinations in accordance with all prescribed standards under the direct guidance of the supervising Radiologist. CT Technologists provide patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics.

  • Maintains competencies in all non-scanner related components.
  • Accurately follows all established imaging protocols for exam being performed.
  • Performs quality control procedures in accordance with the ACR guidelines.
  • Adhere to the Radiation Safety Policies and the principles of a viable dose reduction program.
  • Provides patient education and communications in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Must be competent and proficient to position, select correct protocol and utilize imaging equipment on patients of all age groups for radiological exams, when requested.

Education

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program or JRCERT accredited hospital-based training program Required

Work Experience

  • 6 months experience as a Radiological Technologist Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (R) Upon Hire Required and
  • BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
