Job summary

A healthcare organization is seeking a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to perform routine and advanced imaging procedures as well as ensure compliance with care policies. The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of CT experience and will maintain patient confidentiality while promoting a positive work environment. This is a Per Diem position that requires flexible working hours.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting required.
  • Basic computer experience required.
  • Radiography (R) by ARRT required.
  • Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT is required within 1 year of hire.
  • State licensure required.
  • Texas: MRT by TMB.
  • BLS required.

Job description
Overview

The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist will perform a wide variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, provide support for other imaging technologists as needed, and help facilitate smooth and efficient patient flow. The CT Technologist must be able to work other shifts and/or at other campuses as needed or required. The CT Technologist should troubleshoot basic maintenance, participate in QA, and resolve issues related to image processing and the image archiving system. Ongoing education, safety, and technical advances within scope of licensure are expected. The CT Technologist will adhere to and maintain imaging competencies as outlined by management. Behavior and communication should align with the organization’s mission, values, and culture.

  • Adapts patient assessment, treatment, and/or care methods to accommodate the unique needs of each patient served (physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific, etc.).
  • Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures, and standards of care as deemed appropriate by State and Federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities.
  • Performs examinations/procedures as needed to assist in patient throughput within the scope of the Manager’s licenses, certifications, and/or documented competencies.
  • Demonstrates flexibility by working other shifts and at other campuses as needed or required.
  • Ensures completed exams are scanned and stored correctly in PACS.
  • Ability to follow PACS downtime procedures as a PACS Superuser and escalate issues to the PACS administrator or designee as needed.
  • Troubleshoots and reports equipment malfunctions to the Director/Manager and/or Biomedical personnel; follows up as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements

Education/Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required

Experience

  • 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting required
  • Basic computer experience required

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

  • Radiography (R) by ARRT required
  • Computed Tomography (CT) by ARRT is required within 1 year of hire
  • State licensure required
  • Texas: MRT by TMB
  • BLS required
