Job summary

Midstate Radiology Associates is hiring a Part Time CT Tech Aide at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. The role involves assisting in radiology procedures, following department policies, and supporting patient care under supervision.

Shifts are every other weekend and Saturday–Sunday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM with holiday rotation; compensation is hourly with potential shift differentials and based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification.
  • At least one year’s experience in a radiology setting.

Responsibilities

  • Practices radiation safety through appropriate use of radiation protection devices and adhering to radiation safety standards in order to protect patient and staff and to comply with regulatory agencies and requirements.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use. Maintain work area in an orderly manner. Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  • Meets the needs of patients with regard to the patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.
  • Accurately inputs data in the RIS by tracking actual procedure in order to capture all charges and other relevant information.
  • Possess computer skills appropriate to meet departmental needs in preparation of reports and correspondence.
  • Works effectively as a team member within the department and with other units to provide quality service through communication, cooperation and collaboration.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.30 Hourly

Join Midstate Radiology Associates (MRA) as a Part Time, CT Tech Aide at MidState Medical Center in Meriden.

Position Schedule: Every other Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM + holiday rotation (1 major/1 minor holiday per year).

Compensation: MRA offers competitive starting compensation based on qualifications and experience. Starting pay for this position is between $20.00/hr and $25.30/hr + competitive shift differentials

Job Summary:

Works under the direct supervision of staff technologist. May assist in any modality within the radiology department. Follows established policies and procedures set by the department, hospital, state, ACR, TJC, and OSHA.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Practices radiation safety through appropriate use of radiation protection devices and adhering to radiation safety standards in order to protect patient and staff and to comply with regulatory agencies and requirements.
  • Clean and disinfect equipment and area after each use. Maintain work area in an orderly manner. Report any hazardous conditions or equipment breakdowns to supervisor.
  • Meets the needs of patients with regard to the patient’s age, condition or other special requirements.

Qualifications Guidelines:

Education Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification.
  • At least one year’s experience in a radiology setting.
Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge applicable to department technology with specific references to anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles as applied to department technology.
  • Patients care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.
  • TJCstandards of practice.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Organize and monitor patient flow to meet company productivity, quality, health and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Schedule, organize and complete work in accordance with required workloads.
  • Read, interpret and follow internal quality standards and government regulations.
  • Understand and follow specifications and instructions.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies.
  • Capable of maintaining basic life support (CPR).
Special Conditions:

May be required to rotate on weekend and/or holiday schedule.

May be required to cover ancillary offices, as needed.

OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens.

Physical lifting and walking required.
