Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Lead CT Technologist for Centralized Imaging Services at the Tamarac, Florida facility. This on-site role supports CT remote imaging operations with night shifts (7pm–7am) and 3x12-hour shifts per week, including rotating weekends.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of advanced CT education or structured CT training program.
  • Associate of Science Degree or 2 Year Certificate in Radiology Technology, preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of CT imaging experience.
  • ARRT (R) and ARRT (CT) certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging principles, protocols, and radiation safety.

This position sits onsite at the Patient Logistics Center in Tamarac, Florida.

This is a night shift position, 7pm-7am. 3 (12) hour shifts per week. Rotating weekends.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Lead CT Technologist – Centralized Imaging serves as the clinical and operational lead for the CT Remote Imaging team within the Patient Logistics Center (PLC). This position functions as the primary resource and subject matter expert for remote CT imaging operations and supports the Manager of Remote-Imaging in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality imaging services across supported facilities.

In addition to performing all duties of the CT Technologist – Remote Imaging role, the Lead CT Technologist provides workflow coordination, quality oversight, staff support, onboarding assistance, training, and escalation management throughout the assigned shift. The Lead CT Technologist serves as the first point of contact for operational issues during assigned shifts.

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but exercises leadership through coordination, coaching, mentoring, process improvement initiatives, quality monitoring, and operational decision-making. The Lead CT Technologist works collaboratively with remote and centralized imaging technicians, facility staff, physicians, and leadership to ensure imaging services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.

What you will do in this role:

  • Performs all responsibilities of the CT Technologist – Remote Imaging role.
  • Serves as the operational lead for assigned shifts and acts as the primary resource for CT Remote Imaging staff.
  • Provides guidance and support to CT technologists regarding imaging protocols, workflow management, patient safety concerns, and operational issues.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact during assigned shifts in the absence of department leadership.
  • Assists in maintaining efficient workflow across supported facilities and remote imaging operations.
  • Monitors remote CT imaging operations to ensure adherence to established workflows, protocols, quality standards, and service expectations.
  • Supports disaster preparedness, downtime procedures, and emergency operational plans.
  • Assists leadership with quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participates in auditing imaging procedures, protocols, and documentation for compliance.
  • Assists with onboarding, orientation, training, and competency validation of new CT Remote Imaging staff.
  • Supports education related to CT imaging protocols, technology updates, workflow processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates exceptional customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Assists with operational reporting, data collection, and performance monitoring.
  • Participates in department meetings, committees, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific patient care requirements for neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.

What requirements you will need:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Completion of advanced CT education or structured CT training program.
  • Associate of Science Degree or 2 Year Certificate in Radiology Technology, preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years of CT imaging experience.
  • Previous Lead Technologist, Supervisor, or informal leadership experience, preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-site imaging operations, preferred.
  • Current State Radiologic Technologist License, as applicable.
  • ARRT (R) certification.
  • ARRT (CT) certification.
  • Expert knowledge of CT imaging principles, protocols, anatomy, physiology, pathology, and radiation safety.
  • Advanced understanding of CT workflow management and remote imaging operations.
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging systems and remote imaging platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a clinical and operational resource for staff.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing operational demands.
  • Ability to function effectively in high-volume and high-acuity environments.
