Responsibilities

The Special Procedures Technologist II performs general radiographic procedures and at least two other imaging modalities, such as CT, Angiography, Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, Bone Densitometry, or MRI.

Required Skills

• Mastery in the use of radiographic equipment and accessories, including CT scanners, MRI scanners, angiography equipment, bone densitometry, or mammography equipment.
• Ability to assess film quality for proper positioning, artifacts, density, and contrast.
• Capability to troubleshoot and correct poor quality images.
• Review difficult or questionable examinations with a radiologist.
• Provide radiation protection for patients, assistants, and self, in accordance with regulations.
• Knowledge of the proper uses and dangers of contrast medias.

Qualifications

• Current California State Department of Health Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT).
• California fluoroscopic permit.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ARRT registration.
• At least one year of experience in CT.
