Job summary

Medical City Decatur is seeking a CT Technologist (PRN) to perform high-quality diagnostic CT procedures and ensure safety for patients and staff. The role includes preparing the CT suite, positioning patients, starting IV contrast when needed, and delivering clear post-procedure instructions while maintaining strict radiation safety standards.

Qualifications include MRT State Licensure (TMB), ARRT CT certification, and BLS within 30 days. Prior CT experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• MRT State Licensure (TMB) required.
• ARRT (R)(CT) registration or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• One year of CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position patients on CT table and provide comfort.
• Start IVs for contrast when required.
• Assess image quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Release patients with post-procedure instructions.
• Turn over and prepare the CT room using aseptic technique between patients and sterilize equipment.
• Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The CT Technologist performs quality diagnostic procedures in an accurate and timely fashion. Operates CT and X-ray equipment and processes images as required. Prepares CT room, equipment, supplies and medication as indicated for the procedure/exam being performed. Practices proper radiation safety techniques on all exams and ensures his/her direct reports and other staff members follow the same precautions. Maintains safe environment for patients, co-workers and visitors. Supports and helps achieve the departmental and hospital goals. Provides services to all age groups (infant to geriatric)

What you will do in this role:

• You will compassionately assist and position patients on CT table.
• You will start IVs for contrast injection and when necessary.
• You will assess image quality and make adjustments when necessary.
• You will release customers with proper post procedure instructions.
• You will turn over and prepare the room using aseptic technique between patients and clean / sterilize equipment.
• You will follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• MRT State Licensure (TMB)
• Registered Radiographer (ARRT)(R)(CT)If associate does not holdARRT(CT)registration, associate shall obtain within 6 months of hire/promotion or completion ofcross-training program.
• One year of CT experience preferred.
