CT TEACHER RESIDENCY PROGRAM DEVELOPER - SCIENCE
POSITION SUMMARY:
CT TRP seeks a program developer to support a middle grades science pathway for the Connecticut Teacher Residency Program (TRP). CT TRP is designed to attract candidates who embrace the potential to work well with diverse students and to minimize barriers to traditional certification program admissions. We currently offer certification programs in elementary, comprehensive special education, and middle grades math. The program is a post-baccalaureate alternate route to initial teacher certification. Program participants engage in a combination of coursework and classroom experiences under the guidance of a mentor teacher while taking classes and certification examinations. The residency experience lasts a full school year and guides successful candidates to job opportunities in the partner district.
A critical part of this program design is the implementation of courses that will provide aspiring teachers with the skills, content, and pedagogy they will need to be successful teachers in Connecticut schools. Under the direction of the Managing Director of Academic Programming, the TRP Program Developer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and revising program components for a potential CT Teacher Residency Secondary Mathematics Education Program.
