Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to perform prescribed CT examinations on patients, while maintaining ALARA principles and coordinating patient flow through the CT suite. The role requires adapting protocols to age-specific needs and ensuring safety for adults, geriatric, and pediatric patients.

The ideal candidate will have AMA-approved radiologic technology training, CA certification, BLS, and ARRT credentials, with CT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in good standing.
• BLS Certification required.
• ARRT in Radiology; CT ARRT preferred.
• Six months to one year CT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform prescribed CT scan procedures and exams.
• Coordinate patient flow and CT Scanner activities.
• Ensure ALARA principles are followed for all exams.
• Adjust protocols and communicate instructions tailored to patient needs.
• Recognize signs of abuse or neglect and ensure safety for all ages.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist, with independent judgment and initiative, performs prescribed CT scan procedures and exams on patients and coordinates patient flow and the activities of the CT Scanner. Ensures that ALARA principle is followed for all exams. Performs related duties as assigned.

Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide CT services appropriate to the age of the patients. Cognizant of safety issues, both environmental and medical. Must be competent to obtain images and perform CT scan studies with adults and geriatric patients as well as children. Responsible for adjusting protocols as necessary and for communicating instructions appropriate to the specific needs of the patient. Must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect in the adult, geriatric, or pediatric patient.

The Computerized Tomography (C.T.) Technologist meets hospital continuing education requirements by enhancing professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops, as well as association groups.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Completion of an A.M.A. approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist in the State of California in good standing.
• BLS Certification required.
• Must have ARRT in Radiology, prefer CT ARRT.
• Six months to one-year prior experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
