Qualifications

  • Completion of Radiologic Health Sciences of California program (preferred).
  • CRT required.
  • ARRT (R) required.
  • ARRT (CT) certification preferred.
  • Fluoroscopy Permit required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
  • BLS Certification through AHA required.
  • Certificate from Image Wisely/Image Gently campaigns within 30 days of hire/transfer; annually thereafter.

  • Cleans and disinfects CT equipment.
  • Prepares contrast medium for power injection.
  • Positions patient for CT exam; transfers and assists.
  • Assists Radiologist with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Adheres to prescribed techniques for radiation exposure.
  • Follows age-specific policy for minimal radiation exposure.
  • Processes images in PACS.
  • Observes patient and machine; reports unusual occurrences.
  • Maintains stock supplies; performs general office duties.
  • Transports patients safely between areas.

Job DetailsJob Location: Stockton, CA 95203Position Type: Per DiemSalary Range: $65.44 - $65.44 HourlyJob Shift: AnyPOSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: under the supervision of the Radiologist, the technologist is responsible for choosing proper scan protocols for the ordered examination. Operating the CT equipment with minimal radiation exposure to the patient. Evaluating patient chart for possible allergies or contradictions to IV contrast prior to administration. Assisting Radiologist in invasive procedures. Properly sending all examinations to the PACs (Picture Archiving System) in a timely fashion for the Radiologist to interpret. Maintains supplies and emergency equipment for the department. Must be able to perform jobs in all patient care and operational areas subject to reasonable accommodations, also be able to employ all mandatory safety devices and procedures. Must participate in the Respiratory Protection Program, which may include the wearing of a respirator. This is a union position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Prepares room, equipment, materials as needed for patients
  2. Cleans and disinfects CT equipment
  3. Prepares contrast medium for power injection
  4. Prepares patients for CT exam; explains procedures, transfers patients to table, positions the patient and assists patient at end of procedures.
  5. Assists the Radiologist with invasive and non-invasive procedures
  6. Follows prescribed techniques in administering radiation to patients
  7. Adheres to age-specific policy for minimal radiation exposure to patients
  8. Processes images in Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS)
  9. Observes patient and machine during procedure and reports unusual occurrences to Radiologist and nurse
  10. Maintains stock supplies and performs general office duties
  11. Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed ensuring patient safety and comfort
QualificationsEducation:
Experience:

Completion of Radiologic Health Sciences of California program. Preferred but not required.

Licenses/Certificates:
  • CRT required
  • ARRT (R) required
  • ARRT (CT) certification preferred
  • Fluoroscopy Permit required within 6 months of hire/transfer [for incumbent technologists must obtain by December 31, 2015]
  • Current BLS Certification through AHA required
  • Certificate from Image Wisely/ Image Gently campaign within 30 days of hire/transfer; annually thereafter
