POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams. Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions. Must produce computerized tomographic scanner Radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered/directed according to established policies and procedures. Must prepare or enter written documentation as required by the Department, such as: informed patient consent, patient chart documentation, and other related duties. Must observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary. Check equipment, supplies and accessories on a regular basis. Assess the physical needs of the adult and geriatric patients. Demonstrate the ability to recognize and ally patients' fears and apprehensions about exams. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas. Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards. Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for the hearing impaired, physically challenged or any other patients who may enter the hospital. Observe Bio-Safety and Radiation safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed or deleted at any time at the discretion of the Director/Assistant Director of Radiology, either verbally or in writing. Performs related duties in PACS. Responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital/department policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. Must complete requested examinations in a timely manner, observing radiation safety standards. Must be computer literate. Must select and operate equipment as directed. Must be aware and able to prevent Sentinel Events.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established based on relevant experience.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBSH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the following requirements:
Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Southampton Hospital’s Employee Health Services.
Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
Successfully complete a 4-panel drug screen.
Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment screenings.
Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).
Failure to comply with any of the above requirements could result in a delayed start date and/or revocation of the employment offer.
