Working under the direction of the CT/X-Ray Manager, CT/X-Ray Supervisor, and CT Clinical Director, the CT technologist is responsible for performing all technical procedures within CT as described in the DFCI Imaging Policy Manual. The CT technologist duties include the responsibility of the delivery of safe and effective imaging procedures, participation in departmental education programs, participation in organizational and departmental goals and priorities, and active involvement in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI) activities. Each CT technologist position requires a close working relationship with Imaging professionals, nursing, and technical staff, as well as with providers, investigators, and their staff. The CT technologist will work to create and sustain a culture that fosters excellence, impact, and discovery of innovative and novel approaches towards the eradication of cancer and related diseases.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to effectively work with peers, leadership, faculty, and various teams.
Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with peers, leadership, and external contacts.
Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Detail-oriented with excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through.
Able to work independently and/or with a team in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workload.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
PATIENT CONTACT:
Direct patient contact.
DYNAMIC WORK LOCATION and SCHEDULE ASSIGNMENT:
Fully on-site.
Routine on-call assignment (weekend backup).
This role includes travel to other imaging locations (e.g., Longwood, Chestnut Hill, etc.).
Contingency staffing coverage as needed.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
This role includes potential exposure to radiation, chemicals, and other hazards inherent in the operation of a radiology operation.
Activity Physical Demands:
Ability to respond to staff and patient’s needs, physically position patients and manipulate imaging equipment is required. Ability to work with patients that need assistance (stretcher transfers, wheelchair transport, positioning, etc.) is also required.
