Position Overview

Performs radiographic and computerized axial tomography procedures on all age groups, adhering to established professional and departmental standards and procedures.

Essential Job Duties
  • Performs routine radiographic and specialized CT procedures, maintaining quality standards and patient needs.
  • Conducts daily quality assurance testing on CT equipment and emergency devices, maintaining records as required.
  • Reports equipment, staffing, and productivity issues to supervisor and suggests improvements.
  • Gathers clinical data pre-examination, supervises patient preparation, and records significant information, prioritizing workflow.
  • Manages patient flow efficiently through scheduling and responsibility assignment.
  • Maintains proper storage and routing of supplies; monitors inventory and reports shortages.
  • Keeps a daily activities log and procedures manual; compiles data and issues reports as needed.
  • Participates in training, orientation, and in-service activities; demonstrates CT procedures and equipment.
  • Assists physicians with interventional CT procedures and emergency responses, including adverse contrast reactions.
  • Supports new personnel orientation and ongoing training programs.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a two-year radiological technology program at an AMA-accredited institution.
  • At least one year of radiologic technology experience and either one year of CT experience or completion of in-house CT cross-training.
  • Current Maryland licensure and BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • CT certification.
Physical and Work Environment

Position involves exposure to blood-borne pathogens and requires heavy physical effort, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally. Reasonable accommodations are available under the ADA.
